FIRST U.I.M. LONG DISTANCE WORLD RECORD FOR 100% SUSTAINABLE JET SKI
- On Monday, September 15, the Mediterranean became the stage for an extraordinary adventure. On Sept. 15, 2025, from the Yacht Club de Monaco, the official starting and finishing point, Massimiliano Mordenti, official pilot of the Monegasque Powerboat Federation and founder - together with his wife Erminia Fezia Mordenti - of the Offroad Club Monaco (OCM), accomplished an unprecedented feat: the first UIM world record long-distance by jet ski powered 100 percent by bioethanol by linking Monaco to the circumnavigation of Gallinara Island (Liguria, Italy) and then returning to the Principality.

After a summer marked by uncertain weather, a favorable window finally opened on Monday, September 15. The conditions were not ideal, but the CMO team decided to continue the challenge, guided by their spirit: a record conceived not only as a sporting performance, but also as a means to promote a more responsible and environmentally friendly sport.
A crossing of about 3 hours, which began at 1:10 p.m., will go down in history not only for the sporting performance, but also for its symbolic significance: a record achieved with a jet ski powered by 100 percent bioethanol, where rhythm and adrenaline combine with environmental awareness.
A WORLD PREMIERE BETWEEN SPORTS AND RESPONSIBILITY
Conceived and organized by the Offroad Club Monaco (OCM), with the invaluable active participation of the Monegasque Motonautical Federation and the recognition of the UIM, as well as with the support of the Prince Albert II Foundation and the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Monaco, this project aimed not only to set the first record for its category, but to send a strong message: to demonstrate that innovation, respect for the environment and sporting passion can coexist.
In addition to the record, the initiative embodies OCM's philosophy: "The wake of Monaco"-starting from Monaco to achieve goals ,overcoming one's limits ,enriching oneself with cooperation between individuals and cultures, passion for outdoor sports by conveying values of love for sports, cohesion among people, peace and respect for the environment, and then always, inevitably, returning home, which for OCM is Monaco.
AN INNOVATION IN THE SERVICE OF THE SEA
The feat was distinguished by the use of 100 percent bioethanol fuel, an environmentally friendly fuel, combined with an innovative ANTISVERSION refueling system specially designed for the occasion,Designed by engineer Andrea Pezzini (Floating Life), A concrete step toward more sustainable boating practice.
The CMO's multidisciplinary approach combines sport and academic engagement, in collaboration with prestigious European universities and research centers. These were represented on board during the record attempt by Prof. Andrea Carteny, of La Sapienza University of Rome and coordinator of the International Technical-Scientific Committee of the Offroad Club Monaco project.
THE YACHT CLUB DE MONACO, TRUE HQ OF THE BUSINESS
More than just a starting and finishing point, the Yacht Club de Monaco provided a warm welcome, technical expertise and family atmosphere that turned this record into a true collective celebration of the Principality's nautical and sporting spirit.

ABOUT THE MONACO OFFROAD CLUB
Born in Monaco and founded by Massimiliano and Erminia Fezia Mordenti, the Offroad Club Monaco (OCM) promotes a unique vision: a sport that goes beyond mere performance, becoming a vehicle for novelty, culture, peace and responsibility. Inspired by the legacy of the great pioneers of our history (such as Prince Albert I of Monaco, the forerunner of oceanography), the OCM, together with its members, conceives of off-roading as both a physical and philosophical experience: a terrain of exploration and human relationships, off the beaten path.
