Offroad Club Monaco and Italian Sport Day: Sport, Innovation and Sustainability
On Sept. 29, 2025, the second edition of the Day of Italian Sport in the World, organized by the Embassy of Italy in Monaco and sponsored by the Offroad Club Monaco (OCM), was held at the Yacht Club of Monaco.The event, chaired by H.E. Ambassador Manuela Ruosi, had as its theme, "Sports Diplomacy: instrument of dialogue for the well-being of the future."Among those present were H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and numerous personalities from the worlds of sports, culture, academia and entertainment.
During the event, Massimiliano Mordenti, co-founder of the CMO and pilot of the Monégasque Federation of Motor Boating, presented his UIM world record long-distance in 100% bioethanol jet skis, achieved on September 15, 2025.
The record was achieved with a jet ski converted to FlexFuel and equipped with an anti-defueling system designed by engineer Andrea Pezzini, combining sporting performance and environmental sustainability.
Mordenti stated:
"We chose bioethanol because we believe that sports should help build a more environmentally friendly future without sacrificing passion and discipline."
Sports and sustainability: a message for the future
The event included talks by experts and academics such as:
- Dr Diego Nargiso, senior sports manager at the Polytechnic University of Turin
- Pr Andrea Carteny, La Sapienza University of Rome
- Pr Francesca Lenzi, Sapienza University of Rome
- Pr Giorgio Meneschincheri, founder of Tennis & Friends
The panel "Bougeons ensemble pour notre santé" emphasized the importance of sports in health, education and social cohesion. Athletes and personalities such as Max Biaggi, Matteo Trentin, Gianmarco Casiraghi and Ezio Greggio also spoke.
Offroad Club Monaco: sport, culture and innovation
Founded in Monaco, Offroad Club Monaco promotes projects that combine outdoor sports, innovation, culture and environmental sustainability.Through initiatives such as the Mordenti World Record, the CMO encourages discovery, exploration and respect for the environment, in collaboration with universities and international research centers.
The next event will be on Nov. 21, 2025 at the Monaco Oceanographic Museum, with the scientific-academic workshop "History and Cultural and Natural Heritage of the Mediterranean."
